Jeanie Bernice (Courtney) Medlin

March 13, 1935 — October 16, 2016

Jeanie Courtney Medlin, 81, went home to be with her Lord Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, October 16, 2016. She was born March 13, 1935 in Union County, NC daughter of the late Coy David Mayo Ford Courtney. She is also preceded in death by her husband Raymond R. Medlin, a son Charles Dillon Funderburk, and a daughter Pamela Ann Price. She was devoted to her children, giving when she had none to give, and working when she had no strength left. As there is no one perfect, save for our Lord Savior Jesus Christ, God did make one other unto his own likeness, we call her Mother. Thank you Mom for the scarifies you made to make sure we could say…. “I was loved” Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at the funeral home. Jeanie was survived by three sons; David Funderburk, wife Royce of Monroe, Jimmy Price, wife Teresa of Stanfield, Paul Price, Jr. wife Dee of Monroe, two daughters Beverly Austin, husband Warren of Wingate, and Paulette (Polly) Price-Steele of Monroe, a brother G.B. Courtney of Monroe, a sister Mildred Hunsucker of Charlotte, eleven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777 New York, NY 10163. Gordon Funeral Service Crematory is caring for the Medlin family.
