Jeanne Marie Davis-Diehl October 2, 1944 – October 7, 2013 Jeanne Marie Davis-Diehl, beloved wife and mother, peacefully passed away at her residence in Monroe, NC, on October 7, 2013, after her hard fought battle with cancer. She was born on October 2, 1944, in Berwyn, Illinois. After raising two daughters, and working for 30 years as a marketing manager and software developer at Illinois Bell Telephone Company, in Chicago, she retired and moved from Wheaton, Illinois, to Monroe, North Carolina in 1996 with her dedicated husband, Albert Diehl. Throughout her life, she was devoted to helping better the lives of others through her volunteer work with the League of Women Voters of Union County, where she previously served as President, United Methodist Women of Central United Methodist Church, where she previously served as President, Literacy Council of Union County, where she previously served on the Board of Directors, the Union County Symphony, where she previously served on the Board of Directors, and Loaves and Fishes of Union County, where she has superbly served as the Executive Director since 2009. She is survived by her loving husband, Albert Diehl, her loving daughters, Joanne Dinschel, residing in Ft. Myers, Florida, Janis Dinschel and husband Timothy Romeo, residing in Charlotte, North Carolina, her brother, Michael Hynous and wife Janetta, residing in Louisville, Kentucky, and her sister, Susan Vanzuiden and husband Michael, and their children, residing in Kansas City, Kansas. A service honoring her life will be held Wednesday October 9, 2013 at Gordon Funeral Service 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC, 28112, at 3:00 PM with a visitation beginning at 1:00 PM, burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery.
