Jessie Nell Birkner

Jessie Nell Williams Birkner, 91, of Charlotte, NC, passed away February 17, 2021. She was born in Anson County on November 9, 1929, daughter of the late Jesse Sebron Williams and Mamie Edwards Williams. She is preceded in death by her husband Andrew Michael Birkner. A private graveside service for the family will be held at 1:00PM, Monday, February 22, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery, 4426 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205. The family asks those in attendance to please follow the mask mandate and social distancing requirements. A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate Nell’s life. Nell graduated from nursing school in 1950 in Mt. Airy, NC, and continued to work for 19 years at Martin Memorial. After moving to Charlotte, NC, she worked at Presbyterian Hospital for 23 years, retiring from nursing in 1991. Nell is survived by her daughter, Betsy Birkner, husband, Randy Wall, two grandchildren, Andrew Wall and Hollis Wall; brother, Harold Williams, wife Ann. The family requests no flowers.
