Jessie James “Nate” McNeely, 78, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015. He was born in Union County, NC on October 5, 1936 son of the late Otis Rushing and Arnetta Byrd McNeely. Mr. McNeely was a US Army veteran Korean Conflict, retired Conbraco employee after 25 years and retired employee of Acme Nameplate after 15 years. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Meadows McNeely, sons, Jeff McNeely of Lake Wylie, SC, James McNeely and wife Rebecca of Charlotte and Greg Meadows and wife Yaguama of St. Paul, Minnesota, daughter, Michelle Chambers and husband Rodney of Monroe, brother, Walter Byrd of Monroe, sisters, Mary Thompson and Ida Jackson, both of Monroe, Daisy Turner of Philadelphia, PA, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, John McNeely. Gordon Funeral Service Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112 is caring for the McNeely family.
