Jessie Worthington Perry, 94, of Monroe, NC passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020. She was born on September 22,1925 in the Republic of Panama to the late Harvey and Elida Flores Worthington. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Master Sergeant George Perry Jr. to whom she was a very proud military wife, and their son Alan Wesley Perry. The funeral Mass will be held at 8:30am, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 725 Deese St, Monroe, NC 28112. Reverend Father Benjamin A. Roberts will Officate the Mass. The inturnment will take place at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, where she will be placed beside her husband. She was bilingual in Spanish and English. She loved travel, dancing, history, reading, sewing, pottery, gardening, family, friends, and the Catholic Church. Jessie is survived by her son George Roger Perry (Pricilla) of Mineral Springs, NC, and daughters; Carolyn McCorkle (Jerry) of Monroe, NC, and Marsha Oliver (James Richard) of Austin, TX; two sisters, Sonia Cabaleiro and Marlene Ocana both of the Republic of Panama; ten grandchildren; John Patrick Little (Susan) of AR, Mercedes Gilbert (Jeffrey) of TX, James Ryan Oliver (Barbi) of TX, Susannah Colvin (Tobias) of OR, Shannon Bragman (Scott) of Boone, NC, Wesley Perry (Sarah) of Wilmington, NC, Jessica Stopher (Jack) of Charlotte, NC,Becky Perry of Mineral Springs, NC, Johnathan McCorkle of Monroe, NC and Ross Perry (Stinili) of Charlotte, NC; fifteen great-grandchildren; Aaron Little, Sydni Little, Catalina Oliver, Cohen Gilbert, Kayden Carver, Bryce Carretto, Oliva Perry, Sydney Perry, Corbin Gilbert, Leo Colvin, Sage Bragman, Jackson Perry, Diesel Stopher, Sutton Colvin, and Marlowe Bragman. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
