Jimmy Carroll Deese Jr. passed away on February 14th, 2022. He was the son of Jimmy & Isabell Deese. Jimmy dedicated many years of his life to coaching--mainly coaching his boys through Piedmont Middle school football. To know Coach Deese was to love Coach Deese. Even many years later we hear stories from grown men on how Jimmy impacted their lives. Every story brought the biggest smile to his face. Coach was one of his favorite titles. Jimmy was a dad to five kids: Jessica, Justin, Joshua, Jordan and honorary daughter, Victoria. Between the chaos of five kids, he never missed a dance recital, practice, game, pageant. It doesn’t matter what it was, if it involved his kids, he was there. He was a master builder of all things and was constantly teaching his kids the tools of the trade and all the secrets of life. Jimmy taught his kids about hard work and the importance of loving the Lord. He always made sure his kids knew how proud he was of them. Dad was his second favorite title. Although he loved the titles of Dad & Coach; Pawpaw was his favorite title of all. He often joked that if he could’ve had grandkids first he would have. When he wasn’t working, all of his time was spent playing with his grandkids. He was so proud of them, he made sure they knew and he made sure everyone he came in contact with knew it too. Anytime any of the kids walked through the door it was Pawpaw this or Pawpaw that. They loved him just as much as he loved them. Pawpaw was his favorite title of all. However, all of these titles wouldn’t be possible without the support and love of his life, Yvette. They spent 34 beautiful years together. Where you saw Jimmy, you saw Yvette too. They created a wonderful life together and he always made sure she was protected and loved. They literally were the perfect pair. Jimmy will be deeply missed and forever loved. Jimmy is preceded in death by his grandparents John & Etta Deese and Burton & Bertie Harvell; and honorary Grandson Camden Helms. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Yvette; his parents, Jimmy & Isabell Deese; his daughter Jessica Tucker (Barry) and three sons Justin Deese (Megan), Joshua Deese (Sarah), Jordan Deese (Cali) and honorary daughter Victoria Helms (Luke); his 9 grandkids: Dallas, Jase, Mason, Emery, Leighton, Easton, Georgia Grace, Chloe and honorary grandson due in June. He is also survived by his brother Martin Deese (Karen) and sister Carolyn Clark (Jeff); in-laws Douglas & Terry Kiker; brother-in-law Brian Kiker (Penny); sister-in-law Bridget Dinkins (JD); many nieces and nephews; and lots of family and friends.
