Jimmy was born in Union County, NC October 23, 1938 son of the late James Elmore and Jewel Aydell Deese Kennington. He was a US Navy veteran. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Jimmy is survived by his wife Barbara Mizerak Kennington; son James Edward “Jimmy” Kennington and wife Kathey of Monroe, NC; daughter Tracy Price and husband Randy of Monroe; sister Linda Kennington of Mount Holly; and four grandchildren.
