Joe Melvin Beach, 81, of Monroe, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016. He was born December 5, 1935, in Gaston County, NC, to the late Thomas Clyde and Florence Lorraine Auten Beach. Mr. Beach was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from Johnston Mills, where he was Vice President. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Monroe. In addition to his parents, Mr. Beach was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Chavers Beach. He is survived by his three sons, Michael Beach of Conroe, TX, Daniel Beach and wife, Margie, of Garden City, SC, and Kevin Beach and wife, Angie, of Wingate; and grandchildren, Amber, Jared, Cameron, Karlee, Holden, and Hilton (who is due in January 2017). The family will visit with friends and relatives from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening, December 21, 2016, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 22, 2016, in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, followed by burial in Lakeland Memorial Park.
