John Haskell Baucom

Dateline: Marshville NC John Haskell Baucom, 81, died Thursday September 25, 2008. He was born March 18, 1927 in Union County, NC son of the late Clayton Eugene and Lydia Pearl Brewer Baucom. Haskell was retired from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture as a Poultry Inspector; he also was a veteran of the US Navy and served during WWII. Mr. Baucom is survived his wife Mary Ann Sprowls Baucom, a son John Calvin Baucom of Anchorage AK, two daughters Jean B. Tarlton, and Joyce B. Griffin both of Marshville, one brother Ray Baucom of Marshville; seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, September 29, 2008 at 11:00AM in Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe, NC In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Marshville, PO Box 667, Marshville NC 28103, or Veterans of Foreign Wars, 3111 Ansonville Road, Marshville, NC 28103.
