Mr. John Larry Bishop, a devoted husband, father and friend passed away Saturday, October 09, 2021 at Atrium Union-Monroe. Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Larry was the son of the late John Baggot Bishop and Mae Dillard Bishop. The family will hold a private service to celebrate the life of Larry Bishop at 2:00 PM, on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Mount Lawn Memorial Park in Boone, North Carolina. A graduate of Wingate University, Larry married Judith Wilson in 1969 and moved back to Wingate, North Carolina. He first worked at Wingate College before serving as Hospital Administrator at Union Memorial Hospital. In his last years, Larry worked as an Adjunct Professor at Wingate University. Larry is survived by his two sons, Michael Bishop of Wingate and J. Bradford Bishop of Atlanta; a sister, Teresa Caine wife of late Donald Caine of Greensboro; sister, Judith Spillers, wife of late William Spillers of High Point; and sister, Martha Beasley (Ken) of Easley, South Carolina.
