John Robert Davis

John Robert Davis Jr., 60, of Monroe, NC passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021. He was born in Boston Massachusetts on August 28, 1960, son to the late John Robert Davis Sr., and Leta Anderson. He is also preceded by brother Douglas Wall and daughter Lindsey Moales. A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, February 5, 2021 at Lakeland Memorial Park. John was such a unique individual that it is difficult to describe the essence of who he was. He was very funny, but didn’t tell many jokes. He was just funny, in the observations that he made, frequently making those around him laugh. He knew the streets, and talked about doing the right thing. But he was never judgmental. He understood that everyone had difficult choices to make in life and always encouraged people to do the best they could, a trait he inherited from his mother. He wasn’t religious, but he knew God. He accepted Christ long ago but didn’t ascribe to the weekly rituals of going to church. He loved good music and Kung-fu movies. He used to practice his own self-taught moves with nun chucks. In his youth he was an athlete, and could do backhand springs across a field of grass. He was very loving, but he wasn’t touchy-feely. He showed his love through hard work and commitment that was never for himself. Over the years he fought to be better. A better husband, a better father, a better provider.
