John Stephen Defore

John Stephen “Steve” DeFore, 76, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019. He was born August 15, 1942 in Coal City, Indiana, son to the late John and Margaretta Schafer DeFore. He was preceded in death by his wife Rachel Eason DeFore a son, Dennis Avery Crooke, and a brother Neil DeFore. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives prior to the service from 10:00am until 11:45am at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Mr. DeFore is survived by a son, Phillip A. Crooke and wife Daniela of Virgina; daughter, Stephanie DeFore of Delaware; grandchildren, Kevin Crooke, Dustin Crooke, Noah Thomas and Madison Thomas, and a sister Joretta Roloff.
