John Hamilton

Monroe, NC John Hamilton, 88, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009. He was born in Pike County, Kentucky on March 31, 1920 son of the late Aaron and Margaret Sawyer Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton was a coal miner for 40 years, was a US Army veteran serving in WW II and was a Jehovah’s Witness since 1973. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC at 2:00 PM. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Hamilton. He is survived by his wife, Inez Pugh Hamilton, children, Carolyn Taylor, Johnny Hamilton, Stuart Hamilton, Debbie Redding, Dianne Sparks and Roger Hamilton, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, brother, Kerry Hamilton, sisters, Ada Damron and Oma Rawls.
