John "J.B." Thomas

Dateline: Monroe, NC John (J. B.) Thomas, 83, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012. He was born in Union County, NC on April 21, 1928 son of the late Sebern and Arrie Thomas. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 20, 2012 in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Helms Thomas, son, Lee Clark Thomas, an infant son, brother, Malcolm Thomas and a granddaughter, Jennifer Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Edna B. Thomas, sons, John Dolan Thomas, Sr. and wife Jean, Jeffery Oleen Thomas and wife Susan, all of Monroe, daughter, Wendi T. Kelly and husband John of Pageland, SC, step-daughters, Tracey L. Little and husband Roger of Marshville, Kathy D. Bethel and fiancé Allen English of High Point, sisters, Dorothy T. Horne, Margaret T. Williams and husband Olin, sister-in-law, Pat Thomas all of Monroe, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
