John "Dan" Jenkins

John Daniel Dan Jenkins, 61, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011. He was born July 11, 1950 in Washington, DC son to Helen Cummins Jenkins and the late John Allen Jenkins, Jr. A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3816 Morgan Mill Rd., Monroe NC 28110, where he was a member. The family will receive friends following the service. Dan is survived by his loving wife Donna Outen Jenkins; a son Joey Jenkins of Concord; his mother Helen Jenkins Smetts of Locust; three sisters, Sue Barbee of Oakboro, Brenda Vasquez of Matthews and Becky Beatty of Mebane, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Love's Grove UMC Building Fund, PO Box 276, Stanfield NC 28163, where Dan was an affiliate member or a charity of one's choice.
