John Michael Taylor (Mike), 74, of Lawrenceville, Ga., passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025, surrounded by his children and grandchildren, in Pineville, NC. Mike was born in Hampton, Va., on December 4, 1950, to Jack and Marie Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julie Taylor, and his parents.
He is survived by his daughters Michelle Stephens and Kristen Davenport, sons-in-laws Mark Stephens and Matt Davenport, grandsons Andrew and Benjamin Stephens, step-granddaughter Olivia Davenport, brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Margaret Taylor, nephews Matthew and David Taylor, and numerous relatives in Georgia and in Virginia.
Mike was a man of faith, an avid golf enthusiast and player, and loved working in the yard. He created a backyard retreat of lovely flowers and plants, which was a favorite stopping point for songbirds. Mike loved to play the piano and enjoyed sharing his love of music with his family. A great father, Pawpaw, neighbor, and friend to all, Mike, will truly be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Grace Pointe Community Church in Dacula, Ga.,1453 Drowning Creek Rd, Dacula, GA 30019 at 11 a.m. on November 15, 2025. A private burial will be conducted at Gwinnett Memorial Park, where Mike will be laid to rest next to his wife, Julie.
