John Neal Smith, 78, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014. He was born July 21, 1936 in Union County, NC, son of the late John William and Fronie Helms Smith. Graveside services will be Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Louise Deese Smith; daughter, Tina Smith Simpson and son, John Smith, Jr., all of Monroe; brother, William Larry Smith of Monroe; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
