John Parks Tarlton, 74, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He was born in Union County, NC on July 20, 1939 son of the late Adam and Lois Stegall Tarlton. Mr. Tarlton was a retired employee of Union County, NC and a US Army veteran. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Tarlton is survived by his wife, Joanne Rushing Tarlton, sons, Greg Tarlton and wife Patty of Wilmington, Scott Tarlton, of Monroe and Matt Tarlton and wife Sindy, of Monroe, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
