Johnnie Courtney Collins

Dateline: Monroe, NC Johnnie Courtney Collins, affectionately known as “Toppie” by friends and relatives, passed away today, February 2, 2007 after a struggle with melanoma cancer. She is survived by an adored husband of 54 years, Hoover Collins, and a precious daughter Angela Collins of Matthews, NC. Johnnie is the daughter of the late Joe and Wilma Courtney. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Courtney of Pageland, SC and Carl Courtney of Monroe. She is survived by her only sister, Devonne Aldridge of Monroe, NC. Johnnie owned Collins Realty and was a successful real estate broker. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 5, 2007 at Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Gordon Funeral Service Sunday, February 4, 2007 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM.
