Johnny Lee Hildreth

Johnny “Homer” Lee Hildreth, 63, of Monroe passed away Friday, March 15, 2019. He was born April 5, 1955 son to Leta Ann Helms Hildreth and the late James Andrew Hildreth. He is also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Eddie Lynn Griffin, two nephews; Jamie Maynard Hildreth and Jeffery Lynn Hildreth. A celebration of Homer’s life will be held from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Mineral Springs UMC, FLC Building, 5915 Old Waxhaw-Monroe Rd, Monroe, NC 28112. In addition to his mother he is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Cindy Starnes Hildreth, son Jonathan “Spill” Hildreth, wife Brittany, daughter Kristen “Dood” Keller, husband Brett, two brothers; Jimmy Hildreth, wife Debra Kay and Douglas Couick, wife Tammy, two sisters; Annie Griffin and Debbie Goodwin, husband Russell, grandson Emerson “Boogie” Hildreth and granddaughter Maddy “Boo” Boyce, many nieces and nephews, his special Picking Partner “Hoss” McGuirt, and his faithful companion “Duke”. Homer recorded a record and signed a recording contract in the late 70’s in Tennessee, he decided to give that all away for his precious family. He began his career in Information Technology with Tarcon, later he moved on to Yale Security where he retired after 28 dedicated years with the company, during his retirement, he joined with his dear friend Jim Starnes to form J & J Plumbing. He will be remembered as a loving “Pops” to his boy “Boog” whom he would run to the edge of the world for.
