Johnny Mack Thompson, 70, of Monroe, NC, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021. He was born in Union County on August 6, 1951, son to the late Thomas Bryce and Lydia Greene Thompson. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife Eva Medlin Thompson. Funeral services will be held 3:00PM Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Unionville Baptist Church, 510 Baucom Rd. Monroe, NC 28110. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 4:00PM to 6:00PM Tuesday Oct 5, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Johnny was a truck driver and crane operator for Ivan Secrest for over 15 years. He then opened East Franklin Street Amoco which later became Thompson Automotive. Johnny was an avid woodworker and a member of Unionville Baptist Church. Johnny is survived by his “three girls”, Lori Murray (Michael), Shannon Richards (David) and Rhonda Beane (Jason), all of Unionville; grandchildren, Madeline Murray, Johnathon Murray, Abigail Beane, Trenton Beane, Lillian Beane and Joshua Beane.
