On Monday, December 3, 2018, Joshua Douglas Cato, loving son, brother, father and grandson went to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 27. Josh was born and raised in Monroe, NC and is survived by his mother Terri Parker (Jeff Parker), his father Jeff Cato (Dorothy Cato), his brother Brandon Cato, his son Noah Cumbus (son’s mother Emily Cumbus) grandparents Sybil Shearin, Pete and Betty Cato. Josh had a passion for life and loved his Lord and family dearly. He had a heart as big as the sea and could brighten a room with his presence in an instant. Josh was a kind, gentle soul who befriended many and touched the lives of those who he spent time with. He graduated from Parkwood High School and attended UNC-Charlotte. Josh enjoyed playing and watching sports, but most of all he enjoyed his son, Noah, whom he loved with all his heart. The funeral arrangements will be held at 1:00pm Friday, December 7, 2018 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112, with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00am until 12:45pm.
