Joy Karen Carnes

Joy Karen Carnes, 73, of Wingate, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020. She was born in Buncombe County, NC, a daughter of the late June and Joy Ingle Smathers. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Carnes. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the Union County Agricultural Center, 3230 Presson Road, Monroe, NC 28112. She is survived by two daughters, Monica Norris (Bruce) of Four Oaks, NC, Pam Bean of Wingate, mother-in-law, Cora Lee Carnes, sister in-law, Sandy Mills (Bobby) of Monroe, grandson Ethan Norris (Ashley), great-grandson, Liam Norris and a nephew, Garrett Mills.
