Joy Elizabeth Mccray

Joy Love McCray, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018. She was born in Monroe on August 5, 1932, a daughter of the late Bennie A. and Ruby Hargett Love. Mrs. McCray was a retired food service workers with Union County Public Schools. Her greatest joy came from being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and will forever be remembered by those whose life she touched. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Wolf Pond Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Evans officiating, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones Friday from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gordon Funeral Service 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. Mrs. McCray is survived by daughters, Ann and Amy McCray, son, Benny McCray (Debbie), a sister, Ruth Cooper, a brother, Dennis Love. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Amber Love (Chris), Lindsey Shelton (Johnathan) , Abby Martin (Daniel), five great-grandchildren, Ava and Eli Love, Jaxson Shelton, Rhett and Emry Martin. The family would like to give special thanks to the many doctors, nurses and CNA's who provided professional and loving care at CHS Union. They would also like to express their gratitude to Hospice and Palliative Care Team at CHS Union for their guidance and compassion.
