Joyce Carnes Burgess, 87, of Monroe, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. She was born on January 8, 1937 daughter to the late Willie Theron Carnes and Jenny Broome Carnes. She was also preceded by her husband Fred William Burgess, as well as her son, Royce Theron Burgess, sister, Elsie Tucker, brother, Ray Carnes.

A private graveside service will be held at Bethany Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Joy Porterfield and Angela Miller, twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, brother Walter Carnes.
