Mrs. Joyce E. Secrest Plyler, 85, of Monroe, NC passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022. She was born in Union County, NC on April 10, 1937 to the late Roy Secrest and Virgie Moser Secrest. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Roy Plyler and her sister, Betty Crook.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00PM Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Siler Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be private at Siler Presbyterian Cemetery.

Joyce was a devoted mother who always put her family first and was happiest when spending time with them. She enjoyed planting flowers and maintaining a pristine yard as long as she was able. She loved all animals, especially her late dalmatian Dottie and her german shepard Trump, who was her constant companion.

She is survived by her son, Danny Plyler (Kay); daughter Anne Plyler-Carlton (Steve); two grandchildren, Elizabeth Carlton and Wyatt Plyler; sister, Dean Hubbard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
