Judie Diane Shepard

Judie Moser Shepard of Monroe, NC, passed away on March 30th, 2023 surrounded by her family. Raised in Mineral Springs by Lawrence Sr. and Helen Moser, she had two older brothers (Lawrence Jr. and Dan) and sang in the choir with Mineral Springs United Methodist Church.

Possessing an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling, Judie spent the first part of her career working in mental health where she was dedicated to helping others. When an opportunity to join the family business allowed her to spend more time with family, she transitioned into real estate development where she worked closely with her brother Dan Moser on a series of projects across Union County and the surrounding areas before striking out on her own. Judie instilled in her children a passion for life and drive to carve out their own place in the world. With an ever-willing ear, she freely offered advice on how to navigate difficult situations or work towards personal goals.

Judie is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Sr. and Helen Moser, Husband Jim Shepard, and two brothers Lawrence Moser Jr. and Dan Moser. She is survived by family including David and Chelsey Felts, Justin Wortman, Darby Wortman, Lyra Wortman, Cadence Wortman, Steven and Anne Felts, Wyatt Felts, Wesley Felts and Daniel Felts.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 2nd at Mineral Springs United Methodist Church 5915 Old Waxhaw-Monroe Rd. Monroe, NC 28112. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Atrium-Union as they showed so much love and concern throughout her time there. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Judie’s name to The American Lung Association 514 Daniels St. Suite 109 Raleigh, NC 27605.
