Julia Jackson Sanders

Julia Jackson Sanders, 88, of Monroe, NC passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. She was born in Davidson County, NC on September 22, 1936 daughter to the late Lee Addison Jackson and Flora Davis Putman. She is also preceded in death by infant great-grandchildren Kollyns and Everleigh Griffin.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2024, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.

Julia is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years and 9 months, Charles Fredrick Sanders, sons Jody Sanders (Pam), and Charles Lee Sanders (Candace), daughter Leslie Sanders, brother Andrew “Andy” Putnam (Cathy), sister Scott Rhodes (Gary), four grandchildren Justin Sanders, Josh Sanders (Jessica), Jake Sanders (Kirsten Gilmore), and Sydney Sanders (Tyler Griffin), as well as four great-grandchildren Kaylee Ford, Mason Johnson, Hudson Griffin, and Isla Griffin.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver Cathy Jones.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church, 801 S. Hayne Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
