Julia Elizabeth (Griffin) Trull

Julia Griffin Trull passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015. She was born in Union County, NC on February 18, 1938, daughter of the late W.M. (Mib) Griffin and Lillian A. Griffin Stack. Mrs. Trull was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, William James (Chub) Trull; four sisters, Grace P. Mills, Bertha Moser, Ada Aycoth and Ruby Griffin; five brothers, Walter J. Griffin, Roy Griffin, Charles Griffin, Benjamin Griffin, D. J. Griffin; and step-father, Samuel Stack. Julia enjoyed a career in finance and banking administration. She retired as Vice-President of BBT, Manager of Electronic Bank Services (Visa, MasterCard and ATMs). She was a member of an advisory committee for Atlantic States Bancard Association and Mid-Atlantic Exchange, both in Raleigh, providing retail merchants credit card customers and ATM networks services. She received the bank’s “Chairman’s Award” (UCB Employee of the Year), Customer Service awards and Ideas for Excellence Award. She was acknowledged by Strathmore’s Who’s Who Registry of Business Leaders, and was a lifelong member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 1:30 until 2:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mrs. Trull is survived by a son, William Chuck Trull and wife Susan of Charlotte; a sister, Melvie McManus Wallace and husband Rev. B.R. Wallace of Monroe; three grandchildren, Jonathan Trull, Cassandra Trull and Stephen Trull, all of Charlotte.
