Karen Gecola Philemon

Karen Gecola Philemon, 55, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011. She was born in Union County, NC on June 5, 1956 daughter of Daniel Rodgell and Mary Helen Purser Philemon. Karen was a member of Friendly Baptist Church, a graduate of Piedmont High School, class of 1974 and was an employee at PCA Corp for 37 years. She was a very kind, loving and compassionate person to all. Karen was an outdoor lover, enjoyed sports in particular, softball, fishing, especially with her father. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Friendly Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Karen is survived by her parents, Daniel and Mary Philemon of Monroe, brothers, Gary Roger Philemon and wife Darlene of Monroe, and Daniel Rodgell Philemon, Jr. and wife Pennie of Indian Trail, also aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. At other times the family will receive friends at 1605 Clontz Long Rd., Monroe, NC.
