Kathleen Knight Helms, 86, died Saturday, March 8, 2008. Mrs. Helms was born in Union County, NC June 25, 1921 daughter of the late Jackson and Annie Hooks Knight. She was a retired employee of Yale-Norton Company and was preceded in death by her husband Ernest E. Helms, Jr. in 1996. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 10, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mrs. Helms is survived by her daughters Sherri Broom of Monroe, NC and Cindy Rogers of Waxhaw, NC; brother W. Vann Knight of St. Louis, MO; sisters Sarah Edna Wilson and Shirley Gelreath of Gastonia, NC; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends following the service on Monday.
