Kathy Miles Gordon

Kathryn Miles Gordon passed peacefully into God’s embrace on June 15, 2019 at the McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe, NC after a 14-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Kathy was born in Monroe, NC on March 13, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Dr. John Miles and Dorothy Miles. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Gordon and niece, Kathryn Elizabeth Miles. A service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church, 801 S. Hayne St., Monroe, N.C. with visitation following in Central Hall. Kathy worked many years as office manager at Hargett Electric Company in Monroe and loved her work family and the time they got to spend together. Kathy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, David and Joan Miles, her nieces, Emily Miles McGinnis (Mike), Katie Miles Stewart (Shep), and Julie Miles, her great-niece, Anna McGinnis, and great-nephew, Miles McGinnis all of Monroe. The family is extremely appreciative of all the love and support she received from her friends, especially her dear friend Diane Plyler Hough..
