Kay Price Tanner, 69, of Monroe, died Monday, April 25, 2016, at Hospice of Union County. Kay was born August 14, 1946, in Guilford County, NC to the late Zeb Vance Price and Ruby Wright Price. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 6:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Kay was a 1964 graduate of Anson High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Art and History. She was the general contractor and owner of Iron Leaf Homes. Mrs. Tanner is survived by her daughter, Marlene Tanner of Monroe; son, Doug Tanner (Mandy) of Wingate; devoted companion, Wayne Helms of Monroe; brother, Max Price (Carolyn) of Monroe; sister, Nancy Britt (Don) of Norwood; grandchildren, Cady Tanner and J. T. Tanner, both of Wingate; and lifelong friend, Tonda Wynn of Mooresville.
