Kenneth Ray Jr. Bowman

Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Bowman Jr. 63, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017. He was born April 9, 1954 in Forsyth County, son of Mrs. Bobbie Lee Price Bowman and the late Kenneth Ray Bowman Sr. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, October 6, 2017 at Gordon Funeral Chapel 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112, burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Gordon Funeral Service. Kenny was a devoted son, husband, father and doting grandfather. He attended West Charlotte High School and retired from United Parcel Services after 45 years of service as a Feeder Driver where he was known to many as “Tugboat”. Kenny was a proud life long member of Teamsters Union Local 71. He was a die hard Yankee’s fan. Some of his hobbies included composing and playing music on the piano, photography and cooking where he was a self proclaimed grill master. Kenny loved the Lord and exemplified it through his giving nature to family, friends and strangers alike. He enjoyed being active in mission trips to Honduras. Mr. Bowman is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Bowman of Monroe, son, Lane Bowman, wife Meredith of Locust, step-son, Mark Byrum of Indian Trail, two daughters, Katie Sells, husband David of Landis, and Sara Robinson, husband CJ of Harrisburg, step-daughter, Ashley Jett, husband Brandon of Matthews, two sisters, Robin Gibbons, husband David of Weddington, Leann Inman, husband Alan of Harrisburg, thirteen grandchildren, Madison, Tanner, Carli, Ashtyn, Kelby, Saylor, Anna, Lauren, Jocelyn, Isabel, Eli, Hailey and Austin.
