Kenneth George Elko

Kenneth George Elko, Jr., 56, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021. He is the son of Kenneth Elko, Sr. of Elizabeth Township, PA and the late Patricia Coughenour Elko. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Hamrick. A memorial service for Kenneth will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe NC 28112. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the service in the Chapel foyer. Kenneth owned his own carpentry construction company. He was a master finish carpenter and was extremely creative with his carpentry skills. He enjoyed the outdoors, doing projects and was an avid fan of all sports and especially enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburg Steelers and the Carolina Panthers football teams. Kenneth was of the Christian faith and loved spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his father, Kenneth is survived by his two daughters Alexis Kylee Elko of Waxhaw and Kayla Gayle Elko of Wilmington, NC; three sisters Lena McKenzie of WV, Sharon Eden of PA, and Susan Barno of PA; and his loyal companions, Gypsea and Sadie.
