Kenneth Edward Greene

Kenneth Edward Greene, 73, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016. He was born June 6, 1943, in Union County to the late Dowd Hoyle and Loyce Baucom Greene. Kenneth was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during Vietnam. He retired from McCoy-Ellison, where he was a Civil Engineer. Kenneth was a member of Benton's Cross Roads Baptist Church, where he was active with the Baptist Men, taught Sunday School, and served as a Deacon and Church Treasurer for decades. His passion was working on his farm where he enjoyed raising cattle. Kenneth was known for his strong work ethic and was gifted with his hands; there was not much that he could not fix. He is survived by his two daughters, Tracey G. Harrill and husband, Chris, of Indian Trail and Keri G. Humann of Rockingham; siblings, Louise G. Black of Fairview, Glenn Greene of Monroe, and Marie G. Hinson of Monroe; and grandchildren, Matthew and Kayla Harrill of Indian Trail and Lauren, Brent, and Emma Humann of Rockingham. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 2:00-2:45 PM on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Benton's Cross Roads Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00PM in the church. Interment with Military Graveside Rites will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Benton's Cross Roads Baptist Church, 109 E. Lawyers Road, Monroe, NC 28110.
