Kenneth "Kent" Kiker

Kenneth “Kent” Eugene Kiker, 78, of Monroe, NC passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023. He was born in Union County on July 12, 1944, son to the late Theron and Velma Mullis Kiker. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Phyllis Rushing Kiker, as well as his brother Brent Kiker and sister Lucy Caudle.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Antioch Baptist Church, 6223 Love Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Kent was a faithful servant of the Lord and a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church. He loved helping others and never met a stranger. His outgoing spirit and love for people was contagious. Kent loved his family unconditionally. He was always there for them. His grandchildren especially loved trips to Polk Mountain for ice cream, checking the cows, and eating at Rocky River Fish Camp. Kent worked at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company for over 40 years. He farmed and raised cattle for many years. He spent countless hours working hard on the farm, riding his John Deere tractors, and harvesting his crops. To know Kent was to love him, he was truly one of a kind made uniquely special by God. He will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew him.

Kent is survived by his wife Lynda Benton Kiker, three daughters, Paula Munson (Bobby); Lisa Drake; Kim Price (Darin); stepdaughters Teresa Godwin and Melissa Broadway (Stacey), brother Douglas Kiker ( Terry), eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
