Mr. Kenneth Godfrey McCain 77, passed away Thursday April 24, 2014 at his home. He was a native of Union County, NC born June 13, 1936, son of the late George Allison and Mable Godfrey McCain. Kenneth retired as a Captain after 31 years service with the Union County Sherriff’s Office. Funeral services will be held Monday April 28th in the Gordon Funeral Service Chapel at 1:00 PM, burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and Relatives Sunday from 3:00 PM until 5:00PM at Gordon Funeral Service 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. He was preceded in death by his wife Verla Secrest McCain October 10, 2012, son Eddie McCain, and daughter Deborah Tarlton. Surviving are children Mike and Andy McCain, Kim Rowan, Dawn Tarlton, Susan McCain, Kristen Kiker and Shawn Parler; sister Gwen Fulp; 11 grandchildren and 6 greatgrandchildren.
