Kenneth Jarious Price

Kenneth Jarious Price, 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 16, 2019. He was born June 27, 1933, son of the late Jarious (Jay) Clinton Price and Mamie Baucom Price. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Friendly Baptist Church, 5418 Friendly Baptist Ch Rd, Indian Trail, NC 28079. The family will receive friends and family from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Saturday January 19, 2019 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow with military honors in Price Cemetery. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his faithful wife of 59 years, Annie Bell Price; brothers, Ray M. Price, Roger Dale Price and wife Judy Helms Price. Survivors include sisters, Peggy P. Allen (Henry) of Indian Trail, NC, Hazeline P. Tucker of Edgefield, SC; brother, Barry O’Neal Price (Sheila Ann) of Monroe, NC; and many nieces and nephews, including Lisa, Blan, and Seth Rushing. Ken is a Koren War Veteran. He worked at Alison Erwin Co. in Charlotte, NC. He served over 25 years as a volunteer fireman at the Unionville Fire Department and also worked for many years as their Fire Chief. Ken worked 10 years as a Union County Fire Inspector before retiring at the age of 70. He also owned and operated “Ken’s TV Repair.” He was an active member of the VFW Post 2423 of Indian Trail, and of the American Legion of Monroe. Ken was always community-minded and loved helping others. He served as a Price Cemetery board member and former deacon at Friendly Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed.
