Krista Lee Philemon

September 17, 1996 — July 23, 2019

Krista Philemon, 22, passed away on July 23, 2019. She was born in Union County on September 17, 1996 to Christopher Philemon and Brandi Hyatt Tarlton. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Hopewell Baptist Church, Legacy Campus 420 Hopewell Church Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. Burial will follow in the Marshville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00pm until 2:45pm. Krista Lee was a resilient, head strong, beautiful soul taken too early. She graduated from Piedmont High School at the top of her class with cords for, National Art Honors Society, National Honors Society, Magna Cum laude and a member of the Beta Club in 2015. She was a young lady full of faith and a drive to make the world a better place through her non-profit Painting with a Purpose as well as, her daily life. She purchased her first home in 2018 where she just started raising her fur babies- Chloe and Koda. Krista's physical fitness was another passion she excelled, like anything, she set her sights on with sheer determination and passion which lead her to take the first-place trophy in her first ever bikini/body building competition. She was fearless, skydived, rode motorcycles and loved driving a stick shift and would rev her engine at any stoplight in Monroe. At 22 she received her Unlimited Heavy Highway Excavation and Commercial Builders Contractors License for NC & SC. It is truly amazing what she was able to accomplish in her short twenty-two years of life than most would ever attempt. Our loss is felt by everyone she came into contact with, especially her numerous best friends and family that she loved and held so dearly that she has left behind. She is survived by her father Christopher Philemon, wife Amy, her mother Brandi Hyatt Tarlton, husband Phillip, Krista was also survived by her two sisters; Amber Philemon and Hallie Barker, paternal grandparents, Dwight and Margie Philemon, maternal grandparents, Charles and Virginia Hyatt.
