Larry Edd Griffin, 64, went to his heavenly home on Monday, February 1, 2021. He was born on September 30, 1956 in Union County to Betty Floyd Griffin (Aldridge) and the late Tommy Parker Griffin. The family will visit with friends and family Friday, February 5, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC, 28112. A graveside service will be held Saturday February 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Lakeland Memorial Park. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a loyal friend, and most importantly, a faithful follower of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Joan Pressley Griffin and four children; Ashley and husband Dr. Jonathan Warren of Lenexa, Kansas; Dr. Tommy Griffin and wife Heidi of Blountville, Tennessee; Elizabeth Morris and husband Trevor of Matthews, North Carolina; and Brooke Helms and husband Jonah of Monroe, North Carolina; sister Penny Boyd and husband Tommy and brother Richard Griffin and wife Donna. He was also a proud “Pawpaw” to three grandchildren, Thatcher, Jansen, and baby Warren due this summer. Memorials may be made to Maple Grove Baptist Church in Weddington, NC where he was a faithful member or Faith Baptist Church in Blountville, TN, where his son Tommy is the pastor.
