Larry Lee Hood, 78, of Monroe, NC passed away after a long journey with Parkinson’s Disease on Friday, April 4, 2025. He was born in Salisbury, NC on October 29, 1946, son to the late Elmer L. Hood and Evelyn Seamon Hood.
A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 PM until 3:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
Larry grew up in Charlotte, NC and graduated from Myers Park High School in 1965. He played on the Babe Ruth Baseball Team that went to the World Series in New Jersey. He also attended CPCC. Larry worked for Lance in Columbia, SC. Later he moved to Monroe to work with his dad in AVC food service. He loved trout and bass fishing, spent many great times cruising in Alaska and the Caribbean. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of over 57 years, Diane Copeland Hood, the joy of his life their daughter, Emily McNeely (Brad).
