Larry Eugene Ross, 54, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014. He was born in Stanly County on May 11, 1960, son of Billy Houston and Edith Smith Ross. Larry graduated from Piedmont High School in 1978 and from Stanly Community College in 1980 with an Associate’s Degree. He earned his Eagle Scout recognition. Among his many hobbies were remote-controlled gadgets, photography, computers, dogs and birds. Funeral services were Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 3:00 PM in Benton’s Cross Roads Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. The family visited with friends and relatives from 2:00 - 2:45 pm prior to the funeral. In addition to his parents, Larry is survived by his wife, Bonnie Nickerson Ross; his daughter, Cory Elizabeth Mendez-Ross of Roswell, GA; brother, John Ross of Lake Park and sister, June Marie Ross of Monroe.
