Lavonne Williams Little CONCORD - Lavonne Williams Little, born August 13, 1929, died quietly at the Baptist Retirement Home, The Gardens of Taylor Glen, in Concord, NC on October 10, 2013. She was the daughter of the late William Oscar Williams and Fannie Bell Hargett Williams Holloway of Monroe, NC. Mrs. Little is survived by her two daughters, Janet Covey of Braselton, GA and Mary Jackson of Weddington, NC; by four grandchildren, Susan Kelly, Cyclone Covey, John Covey, Anne Byrd; by ten great-grandchildren, Samuel, Madeleine and Nathan Kelly; Lindsay, Darcy and Emma Byrd; Atlas and Apollo Covey; and Jane and Nora Covey. Mrs. Little, a devoted wife and mother, worked alongside her husband, Marvin L. Little, in the family business for many years and faithfully nursed him through an extended illness until his death in 2008. Funeral arrangements are being provided by Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe NC. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 12 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 13th at the Mill Creek Baptist Church in Monroe, NC.
