Dateline: Mineral Springs, NC Lawrence Peyton Moser, Sr., 97, passed away Monday, January 28, 2008. He was born on October 17, 1910 son of the late Bernard and Gertrude Moser. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bernard Moser and Douglas Moser and his two sisters, Muriel Romedy and Willie McCorkel. Lawrence was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen P. Moser and his sons, Lawrence Moser Jr. and Dan Moser. He is survived by his daughter, Judie Moser Shepard and her husband Jim; granddaughters, Chelsey Felts and husband David and Darby Wortman; one grandson, Justin Wortman; one great grandson, Lawrence Daniel Felts and one step great grandson, Steven Felts. Lawrence owned several businesses throughout his life, some of which included the following: Carter Place, Beauty Shop, Moser’s Service Station, Livestock Barn, Moser Grocery, Moser’s Mill, Moser’s Meat Grocery, Moser’s Meat Processing Plant and LP Moser’s Construction and Realty, later given to his son Dan Moser and changed to Dan Moser Realty. Lawrence was an inspiration to us all, smiling even at the very end. He touched many lives. The visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Gordon Funeral Cremation Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC. The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Mineral Springs United Methodist Church. Pastor Bruce Gwyn and Marilyn Wooten will be officiating. Pallbearers are David Felts, Julius Rosen, Stephen McManus, Devon Wortman and Jan Johnson. Members of his Sunday school class and his care givers will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make donations in Lawrence’s memory to Mineral Springs United Methodist Church, 5915 Old Waxhaw-Monroe Rd., Mineral Springs, NC 28108.
