Lenora Mullis James, 83, of Monroe, NC passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022. She was born in Union County on August 24, 1938 daughter of the late Henry Ellis and Eva Mae Threatt Mullis. She was also preceded in death by her husband L.C. “Duckie” James, and two brothers, and four sisters.

Lenora was a prayer warrior and the family’s foundation in faith, she was the model example of a Proverbs 31 woman. She along with her late husband worked in perfect unison to implement and enforce their Christian beliefs and values. She loved her Lord, family and church. She guided her family with a loving spirit and a firm hand. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. One of Lenora’s last sentences in her journal read “I’ll be looking for each of you in heaven.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 2524 Stack Road, Monroe, NC 28112. Entombment to follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.

Lenora is survived by her children; Janice James Lowery (David), Patsy Collins (Marty) and Sandra Carroll (Dale), Charles James (Gina), she is also survived by her two sisters; Mary Killough and Joyce Courtney, five grandchildren; Steve Alexander (Ashley), Craig Alexander (Angela), Joshua Carroll (Savannah), Kelly James and Luke James, seven great-grandchildren; Brie Alexander, Bella Alexander, Olivia Alexander, Stephen Alexander, Isaac Alexander, James Alexander and Bezalel Carroll.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Friday, August 12, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

In lieu of flowers the family ask memorials be made to the Jehovah-Jireh Project C/O Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 2524 Stack Road, Monroe, NC 28112.
