LeRoy Morton, 78, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016. He was born in Union County, NC on June 8, 1938 son of the late Silas and Vessie Wright Morton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Morton is survived by his wife, Ruth Manus Morton, sons, Bobby Morton (Lynn) and Timothy Morton (Sonya), all of Monroe, brothers, Johnny Morton (Barbara) of Monroe and Allen Morton (Debbie) of Marshville, sisters, Jean Griffin (Robert), Tiny Laton (Calvin) and Clara Deason (Carroll), all of Monroe, Judy Price (Ted) of Indian Trail and one grandchild, Dillon Morton. He was preceded in death by brothers, Fletcher and Wesley Morton and a sister, Darlene Morton Hargett.
