Lester Reid, 81, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. He was born in Madison County on March 15, 1936, son to the late James Calvin and Ethel Tweed Reid. He is also preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Sherman, and Floyd Reid, three sisters, Nettie, Faye, and Connie and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Gordon Funeral Service. Mr. Reid is survived by his loving wife, Deane Simpson Reid, two sons, Lester Bruce Reid, wife Colene of Concord, and Michael Reid, wife Cindy of Greensboro, three grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Emily, one great grandchild, Jim.
