Lillian Griffin Benton, 97, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014. She was born in Union County, NC on February 6, 1917 daughter of the late John and Louella Sell Griffin. The family will receive friends Friday, March 7, 2014 from 2:00 until 2:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mrs. Benton was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Thomas Benton. She is survived by her daughters, Lynda B. Aldridge and husband James, Joyce B. Davis and husband Ray, all of Monroe, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Memorials may be made to Mt.
