Linda Helms Edwards

Waxhaw, NC Linda Helms Edwards, 70, went home to be with the Lord April 26, 2011, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Cabarrus County, NC on September 19, 1940, daughter of the late Robert Ralston and Ollie Mae Strawn Helms. Mrs. Edwards earned her B.S. and Master’s degrees from Appalachian State University. She served as Personnel Director for Monroe City Schools and retired as a Title One Reading Specialist for Union County Schools. A graveside service will be Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband of 50 years, William “Bill” Edwards; daughters, Monica Miller and husband, Chip; Michelle Horne; Mia Caudle and husband Sammy; Melinda Miller and husband Chris; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
